| Every great inventor has a muse. In this

| story, my muse is Canadian-born 80's pop

| | raced home to begin designing my "car
|
| star, Corey Hart. Hart's song,
| |
| | sunglasses." Now before I proceed with
|
| "Sunglasses at night" triggered the
| |
| | the story, keep in mind that the year is
|
| creation of the windshield sun shade.
| |
| | 1984; we were not the most tech-savvy
|
| Side pony tails, parachute pants and acid

| | decade.

| | I had this great idea, but how would I

| golden years and the inspiration for my

| | actually build it? Well, I was
|
| greatest invention. It was a warm June
| |
| | seventeen, living in my parents basement,
|
| evening in this wonderful decade when an
| |
| | working at the local watering hole; my
|
| idea struck me. Barreling down the
| |
| | resources were limited. With the $4.75
|
| highway in my 83' Firebird-windows down,
| |
| | an hour I was making, minus money for
|
| music up, cigarette hanging from my
| |
| | gas, beer, and Def Leppard tickets, I
|
| pursed lips-revving my engine; the
| |
| | could only spare money for a bunch of
|
| odometer's needle fluctuating recorded my
| |
| | cardboard, markers, and some tape. My
|
| pounding pulse. As I rocked out to Corey
| |
| | first design was modeled after a pair of
|
| Hart's "Sunglasses at Night," I started
| |
| | Bob Dylanesque shades. The car wore the
|
| to ponder, "What if they made sunglasses
| |
| | glasses with the lenses on the outside of
|
| for cars?" Maybe then the next time I
| |
| | the windshield and the sides wrapped
|
| get into my car on a hot summer day I
| |
| | around the side view mirrors. The

| won't wince in pain when I shift my

| | prototype didn't come out amazing, but it
|
| scorching metallic skull shift knob into

| | had a cool style. I even started
|
| first. That is when I came to the

| | planning on making different
|
| realization that my car's interior does
| |
| | styles-circular hippie frames for VW
|
| not need to be hotter than Hades. I
| |
| | buses, nerdy square shapes, even some
|
| slammed on my brakes, my tires painting
| |
| | frames covered with bands' logos.
