The Boat Master Angler 2003 is over, we have a winner! And the winner is, "Martin Kennedy". Well done to Martin for a well fought competition. Considering that Martin's start to the season where he started with a sixth place, and then failing to score at all in the second. Martin battled on, to score two well deserved wins, a second place, and a third place on the final day. This tops a super year for Martin after qualifying for the Irish team last month. Liam O'Callaghan (Jnr) chased him all the way. It couldn't have been closer in the end, with Liam ending up second on the final day and joint overall with Martin winning on more 1st places. The club has great expectations for next year with two superb anglers heading off to represent us in the masters. ************************** Kilmore Trip: What started off with a bump, but ended up being an enjoyable day for many. The fishing itself was fair to poor. A number of Cod, Pollock, Wrasse, and the odd other species were caught. This was a great achievement given the self imposed club ban we had on the use of Rag Worm. The overall winner on the day was Liam Kennedy, with Liam O'Callaghan (Jnr) second, and Martin Kennedy third. We had nine fishing the day with good weather, and excellent skippers. Many pints were consumed afterwards. ************************** This coming Sunday sees the second leg of the Beach Master Angler. See the "Beach page" for the details. The weather forecast is looking good, and we're hoping to at least match the turnout we had on the last leg. Check back next week for the results. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Update: November 21st, 2003 The last leg of the Leinster Shore championships was held in Kilmore last weekend. Mark Shortt headed off to fly the flag for the club. The conditions on the night were superb, even so, the organisers moved the venue to Rosslare strand. We don't have any official results in as yet, but it looks like Mark may have won the division two title, "well done Mark". ************************** A few of the men hit Newcastle beach on Wednesday night for a few hours, again weather was great. Two hours of fishing produced over 30 dog fish and over 20 whiting. ************************** This Sunday will see our last leg of our boat master angler competition for 2003. 14 members are traveling to Kilmore Quay to fish what we hope will be an exciting day. Check back next week for the report and the results. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Update: November 14th, 2003 Our site is slowly taking shape, we have been able to activate the "private, members-only" section. please contact the web-editor at contact@brayseaanglers.com for your username and password.
